Description

As stated, the tiniest of injuries will cause the character complain... "my fucking leg" when all that happened was riding a bike into a tree @ 20km for example.

When you are in enemy territory with enemy in close proximity the last thing you are going to do is loudly whine about the mosquito bite or blackberry scratch on your leg.

Yes its an over exaggeration but you understand my point, characters complain far too loudly for the most minor of injuries.

  • Maxmem parameter set to Not set
  • Difficulty set to Not set

  1. Affected ArmA II version: 1.5.0.62017
  2. Maxmem parameter n/a
  3. Difficulty: Regular
  4. CPU: E8600 @4GHz

Would add that in PvP this can be a real pain in the ass, trying to creep along quitely and unknown to you because of no visible signs of injury... blood, aiming jitters etc... you all of a sudden complain (at normal talking volume or louder) about your so-called injured body part, can make close quarter stalking and evasion very frustrating.

When disaster strikes in real life and I smash my shinbone on the edge of a table etc, "oh my fucking leg" doesn't even come close to the vocabulary used - trust me :) However, unlike in the game, this pain will quickly go away, usually in the matter of a minute or two.

Maybe certain injuries, below a certain threshold value, should be able to "heal themselves" over some time? This used to be a pet hate in ACE2 (maybe fixed now, don't know), since these tiny injuries would also cause infinite bleeding and blur due to pain.

Monitor player. If damage is caused by bullet or shrapnel or shock, then don't apply automatic heal. If damage to a certain part is greater than defined threshold, then don't apply automatic heal. I think this can be done already in missions using custom scripts, but I'm not sure what the cost is.

Another scripted option could be morphine. Take it, and your pain (and yelling) goes away, at the cost of slightly blurred vision that will go away over quite some time. If you're in such pain that you're screaming "oh my fucking leg", you risk giving away your position, but that to me is how it should be like. In great pain, you scream. I don't want the effect completely removed. If "fixed", something else bad should replace it (like the morphine approach, creating blurry vision).

Should the threshold be upped? Maybe. Should the oral exclamation be removed? I don't think so. In "great" (needs definition) pain, you're not able to hush yourself.

That's the kinda of thing I mean, stuff like bumping into a tree on your mountain bike at low speeds, falling from 1m or less.

Thats right, bullet or shrapnel wound is going to be very painful...
but this is when the character has no visible sigh of blood, can still walk with no or little weapon 'shakes'

I would seriously imagine that if you where willing to expose yourself through yelling in pain when an enemy trying to kill you is within an audible range then you'd have to be in abit of a mess and seriously unfit to fight.

Not asking for it to be removed, just made a little more accurate in regard to character's actual injury/ies.
