Description

First of all I want to thank all the team for the work accomplished ! Ace2 is by far the best mod ever.

Here are a few ideas for the wounding system that jumped in my mind:

1-Better injuries description :
<>Currently when you examine somebody the description is very vague , it only tells you whether he's bleeding/having pain/is in cardiac arrest.
--> A more accurate description that could allow you to roughly assess how bad the soldier is injuried/how many time he has left.(For instance : "He has several wounds,he bleeds heavily,he needs a medic A.S.A.P." or "This soldier wounds have been bandaged, but he seems to suffer a lot and needs morphine.")
+(When soldiers have been given morphine/epi/bandage and can no longer be treated, they periodically scream and everyone wonders who's hit? the examine should reflect that i.e.:"Altough he suffers from a wound,this soldiers has been treated and you can't help him")

2-More variety in wounds treatement :
<> Currently every injuries,even the worst,can be healed with 1 bandage,1 morphine (+1 epinephrine)
-->Make it that some heavy injuries may require multiples bandages to stop bleeding. In some case 1 morphine might not be enough to ease the pain or wake up the injuried soldier.

3-Make the healer more aware of his actions:
<>Currently when you heal someone , you can't go wrong, you just have to click examine and then on each treatement until they disappears from the list.
-->Make it possible to commit mistake i.e.: -If you give too much epinephrine to a soldier he might die//If you give too much morphine to a soldier he might get dazed long duration blurry vision.

4-New Actions :
--> Imagine you're mate is hit , you have no medical supply (no bandages/morphine epinephrine left)>> you could perfom an action to "Push on the wound". ( may-be simulated trough BIS AIS animation) This would allow you to stop bleeding during the time you perfrom the action, earning enough time for a medic to arrive.In case of cardiac arrest a similar action could be done "Perform CPR" to keep soldier alive until a medic arrives.

Thanks a lot for having read my long post and apologize my poor english ;)

~ADDED: Large bandages available in medical gear. They are more effective than bandages, refs #15931, refs #15880, refs #7995
~CHANGED: Bandages do not fully stop bleeding, but reduce bloodloss, resulting in more bandages needed to apply to fully stop a bleeding (alternative use the large bandages for more effect)

Splints, Tourniquets, IV Bags, Plasma bags, all that good stuff should be made functional too.

Highly agree. the addition of non medical treatments to postphone the effects of death with wound holding and CPR while waiting on a medic is an awesome idea. Additionally create an option to cancel or stop an action while holding a wound. Being stuck in an animation while under fire is not fun. As a suggestion could holding a wound in order to stop bleeding assist the medics ability to heal in some way?

Awesome idea, even if its a little less complex like americas Army 2 it will be awesome . For those who havent played, you get the info of the injured and you have to choose beetween 4 actions the corret for his wound :P.

Small update:

to 1:
Medic class players will get a more descriptive-what-to-do list.
Non medics will miss "some" information or even get vague descriptions of "what could be wrong"

to 2:
This is actually already possible since we have small bandages and large bandages (though they have been renamed now to 'Trauma bandages')

to 3:
will be part of the other stuff, once the CAT is implemented and the pain managment is reworked

to 4:
Nothing's gonna changed in this regard, however I think about adding a "Stabilize" action [#8707] (if you or the casulty) has no medical gear.
And the Stabilize action will only slow down bloodloss a bit and relief some pain. But no promises.

Rocko, is it possible to divide the parts of the body wounded for dressing :) legs, arms, body, head ?

When you inspect injured

SHOWREQ - (show list (possibly with values) of required medicaments and/or bandages)

Inspect -> Body parts |
Head -> SHOWREQ
Left hand -> SHOWREQ
Right hand -> SHOWREQ
Body -> SHOWREQ
Left leg -> SHOWREQ
Right leg -> SHOWREQ
CPR

Here is good variant for structured extended menu when you inspect wounded target
Can you try to make some like this PLEASE :)?! Its wold be great!

And propose add additional item - Morphine bags in powder form (just item as small bandage), for applying it as alternative, probably has a smaller effect of anesthesia

  • % Done changed from 80 to 90

to 1:
Medic class players will get a more descriptive-what-to-do list.
Non medics will miss "some" information or even get vague descriptions of "what could be wrong".
Non medics will also not be able to distinguis the severeness of wounds. While medic class player are able to distinguish between four different bleeding levels, regular units might only tell wether somone is bleeding at all or swimming in his own blood.
Additionally you will not be able to get the "He is having pain" examine text from a person who is unconscious (but you might hear him moaning)

to 2:
The CAT is now added
