When player goes deaf after prolonged exposure to loud sound, make time limit longer, around 30 mins before he gets his hearing back.

While it would be more realistic for hearing loss to last that long, it would disrupt gameplay terribly. Thirty minutes is the length it takes to clear a tough town with a good team. I would support longer loss of hearing, but maybe more along the lines of 2 minutes MAX.

nahhh, if that's that case then 5 mins would be good :P

Try 2 minutes for hearing loss (deafness) and 5 minutes for ear ringing (tinnitus). When this happens to me in real life (not from gunfights though) hearing comes back quickly, but the ringing can last for days. It's annoying as hell, but I don't want the game to become that annoying, realism or not :)

Balance between realism and gameplay, plz :)
./concur with CarlGustaffa, cutting hearing completely over a long period of time is bad for gameplay experience. + in MP, TeamSpeak negates this

Voted negative.
Anything above 5 mins is bad for gameplay.

I wouldn't vote for LONGER hearing loss, but I'd like to have the hearing loss start out more gradually. Once that first bullet goes off, you get a little whine in your ears, and after shooting for a while your sense of hearing is slightly diminished, and that whine is only there once its quiet (would be a nice effect to add). After being exposed to a lot of really loud noise for a long time, it would be nice to have everything sound like your in a really long hallway, with a muffled effect to it. And then once you finally lose your hearing, temporarily, it would be nice to have a muted "whine" effect again.

Agreed, anybody who has fired a gun without ear protection knows what it's like. (Getting punched in the eardrum over and over.)

This has been sought to in the component mash up, it includes a more gradual loss of hearing with various stages including tinnitus and ear drum rupturing. If at any stage BIS allows us to appropriately fadeSound, then there will a greater transition also.
