It would be nice with a command to make units say phrases.

Just like where you can tell the SecOp Manager what call names to use, so the player will be contacted like: "Bravo Charlie One Two Three, this is H.Q. We have new...".

Would be cool if you could do it for other things than just the SOM. Eg.

unit1 sayPhrase "whiskey dist500 southWest far", and unit1 would say "Whiskey, 500 meters south-west, far".


unit1 sayPhrase "romeo and juliet are yellowTeam and victor is friendly enemy", and the unit would say: "Romeo and Juliet are team yellow, and Victor is friendly enemy".

These both works with the SOM :P

Would just be nice.

Good idea. IMHO two things are needed:
  1. Access to the existing word/sound-pool and
  2. a word-/sound concat command to build phrases/full sentence on the go.

This would allow mission-makers to build up their own tiny word/fragment-library (or extending the existing one) and concat them together for radio-calls and thelike, making some words/fragments dependent upon certain conditions.
Right now, a mission-maker would need to have each variation recorded in full (as whole sentence). Radio-calling word for word (or fragment) isn't an option, since we really need a sentence.

I'm pretty sure I saw something similar already implemented in Devastation. Maybe the OP could take a look at that mission?

From what I know this is possible with kbTell
Xeno does this in domination.
It gives you access to the core conversation system and all its voice snippets.

Though, it would be nice with something simple too, instead of having to define stuff in several files just to say something.
