Description

The idea is to parse existing version documentation and tickets (bug, feature requests) from external sources.

Some text file with some formation should do the job hopefully. Maybe YAML?

Main task is to find out if this is possible and how via RedMine.

Well, if you understand the database on the original ticket system you could just suck directly, so to speak. If the other system can export to a flat file, then I'm sure it could be parsed and that would probably be easier than direct access.

At the RM side, we could either blow directly into the database or send lots of post html. Lots of options, anyway.

POST and QUERY methods of reading the database (assuming SQL and read/write permissions) Should return the correct behaviour.

found some cool stuff for RedMine.

reply to forum posts via mail:

may get in for 0.9

and even more important: "ticket creation via mail" as of 0.8

And some patch to create tickets via a script:

Red creates Redmine issues from the command line.
