Description

I would like to see the votes from duplicated issues be merged.

  1. Both issues will display the same amount of votes
  2. Removing the duplicate relationships should restore the original votes
  3. Should work for "Related issue" as "duplicates" and only when the other issue is in "Duplicate" Status

user_id should be unique in the count, otherwise this will allow mass voting opening obvious duplicates.

The user_id is unique and users are prevented from making multiple votes per issue using this. I have raised this in the tracker for the plugin involved, and will attempt a patch in due course.

OK, but because the user_id is unique per issue, she/he could have voted for two issues, then the uniquness check have to be extended on both.
Thanks for forwarding the issue.

Edit:
Near the actual Votes number, which remains the same as it is now, add the string "(dup #)", where # means all duplicated tickets votes added according to the algo.
  • All the user_id should be unique in the sum, also the tickets authors.

A workaround would be to show votes in "Related issue" section.
ATM it does show "related to <project> - <tracker> #<id> <Subject> <Status> <Start> <Due date>": it would be useful putting <Votes> somewhere in that line, for instance after <Status>.
