Available when both compass and gps are available. The reason you need a GPS is that that implies you have gadgets and/or the compass is part of the GPS.

Shows "000° 0000" (degrees and mils) for eye-bearing. Not sure what to do about vehicle-bearing though. Show both? Switch between them with a button?

I'm not sure whether to have it just show mils or degrees and allow switching between them, rather than having both numbers at once. This is also an issue when showing azimuth in other situations (show both or just what is requested). I suspect that 95% of the time, people just want degrees, but they may occasionally want mils for very accurate work. What do you think?

Three options:
  • Just one value (degrees or mils, like on the Rangefinder)
  • Degrees and mils all the time.
  • Degrees, but an optional mils as well, for example with a button to show mils in addition to degrees.

Well hard to say. Probably only degree. Not used to mils.

The click on UI to change the display should work here too?

As far as I'm aware, mils are only really useful in specific circumstances, like plotting accurate artillery positions. I'll go with switchable in some way, I think (so one of 360/6000/6400 units shown).

Simplified this to just show degrees (if you need mils bearing, use Rangefinder). r811
