Description

After some short research it seems white phosphourous munitions are rarely deployed from aircraft these days (would love someone to find otherwise) but this did bring me to the thought of chemical warfare in ACE, with nuclear weapons removed and CN gas not really going anything over a large area or much more than some blured vision which one can simply recover from by running out of the cloud, how about something a little more lethal, examples of its use in 'recent' times would be Iraq-Iran where saddam used mustard, Sarin, VX and nerve/blistering agents from aircraft.

In ACE's wounding terms such agents would first disorintate you and cause unconsiouness if Gas masks are not used within the first few seconds (This could be a new form of medical item being a ATNAA kit of a single atropine and pralidoxime chloride autoinjector that would allow said person to either wake from unconsiouness or prevent unconsiousness for a period to allow donning of masks) of the agent being dropped.

Reasons the above should be implamented is it would give mission makers many more objectives and obsticals in missions, add something not seen in arma before, would fit in nicely with the takistani army being simmilar to the Iraq army and it would just be unique and awesome (in the awe inspiring way, terrifiying way and being downright cool).

And who is doing the NBC MOPP suits? :)

Updated by ScarecrowisNOTamused. over 3 years ago

I knew someone would mention Suits :D, I figured MOPP suits would be left out as there would probably be massive clipping issues(Though it could be done.(or development time of the model would be pushed back for that reason) unless they where part of the actual model, maybe a config in the addon like ace_crewprotection? for protection from blister agents that would preven blistering injurys but still allow unconsiounes unless a mask is worn with it.

crap. this request reminds of enabling the "superweapons" in Command and Comquer.
the one that has the money for the weapon first, wins the war. ...

there is no money condition or no gameplay for that.

and there is no tactical superority in using those weapons in "modern" enemy situations.

I cannot think of any situation but two times in WW2 and throughout WW1 where they actually used those weapons.

or do they use nuclear bombs, chemicals, biological in tschetschnia, iraq, afghanistan, serbia?

I like the idea to make CN gas more herrendous though.

I don't belive Nuclear weapons have been used in a offencive/combat role since WW2 just in a research/development role

Chem and bio on the otherhand... WP and MK77 'Napalm' (A first of napalm since Vietnam) for example was used during Iraq/Afghan, WP was used over Gaza and Fallujah specificly in a AP role rather than as Smoke as 'intended', Mustard and Cyclosarin used over Iran-Iraq in the 80's.

Chemical weapons have a place in Arma in my opinion. If you have troops that are ready to fight in a chemical environment the initial casualty rate will be really low. It will make fighting harder though. Imagine being forced to play an entire game in the ACE gasmask overlay, stamina way down, and any wound would be fatal, even the slightest.
