Description

Have there been any changes in the last Versions?

Now I get tired much faster then before (too fast) while carrying <30kg. I get even blackouts from walking or holding my breath.
I really like this feature, but I think it´s too much now.

+1

Not funny when you can jogg only 844 m without running uphill (but running a little bit downhill) with just 11 Kg gear.

+1, i was testing a kit used by a USMC Scout sniper during the battle of fallujah (around 35kg) and i'm unable to jog any further than 300m, thats just ammo and weapons, not including other equipment carried by said solider, even after dropping my weight to 25 i found i was still having issues which i shouldn't be

For rocko...
Simply start jogging with W in the direction the avatar is facing.
Once you tumble over do a

player distance aaa

in the debug console (initial player position is saved in variable aaa)

The distance I reach is always the same, around 850 m which is way way to low for a trained soldier with 11 Kg additional gear.

Ok, we need to become clear about "weight". Additional weight is irritating, please use the weight that is displayed in your gear menu + the 12 kg for default gear. In case of Xeno's report I was assuming you were carrying ONLY 11kg.

In the mission I run in the direction the player is facing on start. That means over a relatively steep hill.

My 1st tryout on that mission (23 kg running single tap W, without time acceleration!) is 956 meters before I pass out/tumble. [Xeno]
My 2nd tryout on that mission (47 kg running single tap W, without time acceleration!) is 324 meters before I pass out/tumble. [ScarecrowisNOTamused (35 kg gear + 12 kg default)]

Note: There is a slight discrepancy between light and moderate weight (20 kg - 30 kg ~). Though we won't return to the previous stamina system values as the whole system was too forgiving, there might be an adjustment for the light weight.

Updated by ScarecrowisNOTamused. about 3 years ago

Can you be a little more clear on the default+12 kilo? (Also i am using units set as SF with default gear of 10kg so a 40kg tollarance as you said after that last update)

Are you saying if i drop said 11kg of gear, grab the 35 of other gear after that my actual weight is 47 even though 35 is displayed on my gear menu?

Updated by Xeno about 3 years ago

Right. The gear (weight) you have already on your body is not displayed in the gear dialog but also taken into calculation.

so helmet, plate carriers ect?
in which case shouldn't mod makers be able to adjust these settings? the unit i was using at the time had a ball cap, small vest and combat boot...

Perhaps, but is unrelated to the issue at hand.

I honestly never heard anyone complain about the situation with stamina before in a way where it needs to be less forgiving. If you were going to implement this in a realistic way then you would need to also add a slow jog animation as well.

All it means in gameplay now is after a helo insertion everyone is stopping every 150-300 meters depending on terrain, it doesn't ass any extra immersion or improve anything. IMO the stamina system was perfect before.

Updated by tonci87 about 3 years ago

That means that you always get 12 kg counted on top of the displayed weight? Isn´t that too much?
What is considered minimal gear, what is medium and what is heavy?

And I agree with militantsausage

Lalala, the 12 kg default weight has always existed since ACE was released for A2. Discussing THIS now is meaningless.

Reverted stamina to HoJo's latest build ~2 months ago until the issue has been solved.

I don't see how discussing any feature of a publicly available mod is meaningless.
Additionally; As the weight and stamina system IS the issue, I see having +12kg randomly added onto my unit VERY meaningful.

Could I suggest changing the base weight and calculation multipliers (as well as an on off switch) for the system available for mission/server editing ?
In the same user config as ace_serverconfig.hpp prehaps ?

This my go a long way to saving everyone masses of grief and much forum slamming.

1. This is not a forum - so no discussion here
2. You seem to not have understood the purpose of this tracker, please get familiar with the workflow - there are some very interesting links in the Overview page

I am not aware where you have the 'randomly' from, please enlighten us.

No, you can't. As for why, try to find the answer in my reply. My fatherly hint: It's one paragraph above

1. You are in fact, correct ! I retract my previous statement.
2. I understand it perfectly well, I would assume any issue posted should have relevant ideas/solutions/suggestions posted within.
I guess I should start a new ticked for every proposed solution however. My apologies.

Randomly as in, what does this 12kg supposedly include ?

No, you can't. As for why, try to find the answer in my reply. My fatherly hint: It's one paragraph above

Thanks Daddy !
Ill go make another ticket for you to ignore :)

Im gonna frame a print out of that comment and hold it dear for the rest of my life.
