1. Player can drag both the tool-bar and protractor-compass very easily to preferred location and lower left is the standard position. In other requests, you ask for consistency with BIS map :P
2. See 1.
3. It is a protractor, not a compass, so it seems about the same size (adding the red line is just a gamey feature to save having a separate compass cluttering the place up).
4. Seems sensible, I suppose.

Can't put it directly in the centre, since then it would overlap the toolbox. Still, in between toolbox and gps on that top row.

Reduced size from 0.3 to 0.25 (any smaller and it would be hard to read mils).

This is done. Well, it is on the top right corner since it is quite big.

Also added a digital compass window (#310) in the top centre (available if player has access to both compass & GPS).

i like it a lot now!

of course some graphics (texture) could spice up the look and clear
distinction of the elements (borders/edges).

This makes sense, but in a related issue, I think I shall be changing the way backgrounds work in Core when I can. Opaque is the way to go, though I haven't decided on light-on-dark or dark-on-light schema. Still, that is a different issue entirely!

Regarding graphics, I'm not opposed to them, but I'd rather have good, consistent "boxes" than mediocre graphics. It is also something that I can manage a lot easier, unless you are volunteering :P

Excellent improvement!

At least: + 1 GUI fan here :)

PS: Is there a ticket about the coloring of the SPON Map bar?
You said it will be like the notepad via Core changes right?
