Description

This is just a feedback ticket, the 80m range for remote detonation makes it useless for bigs ambushes like the old times. Obviously you can always use mines,m2/m4,... but if you are only 80m away, the man who detonates the charge its simply death when ambushing a big comboy.
A example of that was a convoy in with we needed to capture a person who was in there. We had only 2 charges so we used to blow up the first and the last vehicle so the others where trapped in the middle, then take ou the rest with heavy weapons, the problem its that the ones who detonated the charges where too close to the ambush and where easy spotted( they where hided... but seems that not well enough) by the comboy and killed.

I supose that that range its based on the range of a certain military detonator( I supose the smallest one) but i am sure that they should exist longer range detonators( even a taliban can blow up an IED from miles away using a mobile phone :P). As its just a personal opinión, fell free to add yours if you don't agree ^^

The idea its just increase the detonation range, or add multiple types of detonators or charges with diferent ranges.

I support multiple detonators/charges, with those there would be a selective use possible

It has less do with detonators or blasting caps but with the length of your 'fuse wire'. Default A2/OA range for touching off satchels is 200 meters, this is now corrected for the satchels charges.

IEDs having a larger touch off radius is to simulate the use of mobile phones.

I have not seen any "radio controlled detonator" i.e radio detonator/mobile phone/etc. so far.

Before we get millions of blasting caps I want this

(Don't get irritated by the URL :D )

and this

Thxs ;), i didn't know that you considered the charge wired to the detonator, i always thought that it was all by radio detonators. There isnt any military type remote detonator? lol i can make one with less than 100€(being the radio receiver +antenna most of the cost) and 15 min ^^ i doubt that the special forces with all the advanced tecnology they are using, still uses wires to remote detonate charges :P. But that's just my guessing :P

By the way its weird that nobody have ever done the "bomb suit" for arma2(i think there was one for arma but the quality wasn't too good :(). The eod bot ... would be funny but doubt it deserves the work hehehehe. Hey, where are the model makers when you need them ? hahahaha

Let's hope national security agencies do not read here..

I guess radio detonators aren't in use, because they would be too easily affected by all sorts of radiation, thus being not-safe enough. Or the other way, you can jam a radio signal to prevent a mobile phone detonator IED from being triggered (unless it does not have anti-tampering measures in place like additional tripwires or pressure plates)

hahaha, i may have the police surrounding my building right now .

You're right, wire its simpler and easier most of times

Sat phone, GSM phone, talkie walkie or any radio system can be used as detonator. every Armed forces can use these as remote controling system.

You mean as improvised way to detonate(well its relatively easy, but dangerous because the way its usually done, not speaking more of that hahahaaha) or that the military phones and walkies have that already implemented a safe and secure way to use them as detonators?, now i'm curious ^^

I agree that the distance is too short to be practical. But I really don´t know how it is done IRL

Then how do you agree that it is too short?

Rocko! Who miss in ace files NIOKA 0133 cell phone ;):D? wariant is ~1km
Its good time to use this feature as item(when you set IED you recive item, if more one, you dont) for explode IED's, realy!
About Satchel radius, realy sometimes small radius hate players, because he cant deal a good ambushes, or go to more safe place! Maby increase this to 150-300m ?!
