Description

I suggest to increase the propellant burning gas effect during the missile flight, allowing to keep seeing the missile until impact and to correct it more easily.

currently the TOW missile burning gas are only visible during the first 200m, and completely disappear afterward, while it should stay visible.

the AT5 missile (bmp2) also has the same problem since the missile range limitation has been fixed. (tracer was clearly visible before)

i'm thinking about a kind of effect similar to ACE.

A comparison video would be of help :)

ACE tracers consist of particles drop along missile's path. They may not be prettiest, but certainly are functional.

exact, it's this functionnal part that is missing in vanila. we can't know where is the missile during flight, burning gas should be more visible.

also note that the TOW in this video doesn't make bouncing movements like in vanila when launched.

so, ACE parameters are optimum.

To be honest, in this video, AFTER the launch I can see absolutely nothing emitted by the missile during the flight (except for a red light on the back).

So you're sure you don't mean the launch itself needs more smoke?

it's not the launch moment that is faulty, but the following part of the missile flight, ingame the missile becomes nearly invisible after 200m, making very hazardous to compensate or to adjust the missile trajectory (for moving targets for example).

This is how the real TOW missile looks like during flight. start at 0:26.

The fix would consist to add a kind of little fireball effect to the missile, like in the video link.

the AT5 missile (bmp2) already has this kind of fireball effect (maybe a bit too big) with the v1.60 final, but it's missing with the latest beta enabled.

Cheers. The AT5 one could be filed as a bug.

The red "tracer" is made on purpose by the missile to be able to guide it I was told.
