Buildings should not be good cover from small arms fire.

Contrary to what might seem natural, buildings are not necessarily a good place to be in a firefight. I don't know how feasable it would be to mod in a more realistic system, I've heard people say it would be impossible to do - but we do have penetrable objects in-game (aircraft hangers for one).
In anycase some evidence below.

An added complication would be the fact that weapons "eat" through cover (as seen in the above video). I don't know if a cumulative effect could be modeled, but an alternative would be to increase penetrability overall for all or rapid-fire weapons.

Has anyone tested the buildings on Chernarus (those that can be entered) and in OA?
Which do provide cover when they should not?
Which do not provide cover when they should?
