Description

Using PMC 1.01 and A2 CO 1.59.

The entire purpose of this campaign mission is to load weapons that are lying around on the ground into the Ka-60 chopper. However, the Ka-60 chopper is already fully loaded with weapons (3 M32 grenade launchers), so that no more weapons can be loaded. In other words, CHOPPER CARGO IS FULL.

To load other weapons, one or more of the M32s must be removed from the chopper.

Also, there is no external gear access for the chopper as there is for most vehicles, including SUVs, Jackals, trucks, etc. Perhaps this is intended.

Quickest fix:

Have only 1 M32 in chopper to begin with so that other weapons can be loaded.

You need to get in the chopper, open the gear menu,
double click on the gear to put it into the chopper or use the drop button.

As all vehicles the chopper has only a limit capacity to carry gear.

If the M32 grenade launchers already in the chopper are not removed, no other weapons can be loaded into the Ka-60 via the internal gear menu because of the chopper cargo limitation. The player must decide to remove the M32s if any other weapons are to be loaded, and there is no way to know which weapons one will need later. As the whole purpose of the mission is to load weapons, and there is no way to know which weapons to load, the player will in most cases become confused and waste time trying to figure out what to do. Also, it is only through trial and error that one can determine the chopper cargo limitation.

Thus, the in-screen hint at upper right is misleading - something about the cargo limitation should be added to it, like "maximum three weapons and associated ammo can be carried in Ka-60" or something like that. Then the user will know to get rid of one or more of the grenade launchers before attempting to load other weapons.

I'm sure there are other tickets for items disappearing into thin air from the gear menu if an item is dropped and the cargo limitation has been reached. If that happens, the weapon you dropped is lost forever. This occurs even in A2 when you buy weapons at a warfare strongpoint (e.g. Badlands), in which case your standard issue US holo rifle vanishes forever.

Yes, it appears that way. Several people, including me, didn't think to pick up the M32s from the chopper and drop them outside before loading other weapons into chopper to get around the cargo limitation.

As I mentioned in the forum, perhaps all that is needed is to tweak the hint and the mission notes/tasks a little to avoid confusion?

Another idea is to only have 1 (rather than 3) M32s already in the chopper, so that a player could load 1 or 2 other weapons.

I am not sure if the Ka-60 was intended to have external gear access like many other vehicles. Probably not, but having such access would avoid some confusion. It would be like loading items into the open hatch by the gunner, rather than actually entering the chopper and dropping weapons there. Just some ideas.
