Description

Currently if you are using the gunner or commander seat in the bradley you have to get out of the vehicle and use the external trap-door to get in driver seat.

I just did some search on the web and found this link :

http://afvdb.50megs.com/usa/pics/m3bradley.html

and it says that the driver's position is accessible from the rear compartment via the tunnel that is formed between the turret and the left side of the hull.

so, if it's exact we shouldn't be forced to constantly get out of the vehicle each time we want to switch seat.

How about having the driver, loader and commander position crewed by humans; solves the problem since you dont have to switch positions constantly.

In RL a Bradley is crewed by 3 guys not 1 and the tunnel is a safety construction in case the driver hatch is blocked

Updated by cyrilator about 4 years ago

it's technically possible, so the driver seat should be added into the scroll menu,

during a pvp multiplayer, you are often forced to use vehicle alone, in case of emergency or if a enemy soldier is "waiting" for you to go out, the only way you have is to use this emergency access.

Ace is meant to add and improve realism.

PVP or not You must have a fully crewed vehicles to use all its features.

teleporting seat it's 100% unrealistic and only good for BF2 and others arcade game.

Updated by Cleric2145 about 4 years ago

But...it's not teleporting...

On one hand, the realism factor demands we add the ability to switch, but on the other side of realism, one shouldn't need to switch under normal circumstances. However, I think that in a realistic situation, if the driver is incapacitated, his position would immediately need to be covered for a retreat.

It's a toss up, but I'd say leave it for gameplay's sake.

In VBS2 you have the "teleporting" - i vote for to have switchable positions like it was before

Only vehicles where it's technically not possible to switch between gunner and driver compartment the action menue entry should be removed. The source added to the inital post proves ACEs decision on the Bradley wrong. It should be re-added.

In reply to Huggy: Focusing only on Multiplayer where there's enough humans around is disingenous. I, for one, like to create missions that work in multiplayer AND singleplayer. Plus I think it's safe to assume that even the dumbest ace player knows that "In RL a Bradley is crewed by 3 guys not 1".

In reply to ZioSam:
"teleporting seat it's 100% unrealistic and only good for BF2 and others arcade game." well, ask BIS for nice animations taking about 30 - 45 seconds where you follow your character getting out of the seat, crwaling through the bradley and sit down on another. My point: "teleporting seats" is a gameplay plus.

Some realism just has to given up for gameplay's sake. Even with AI enhacements, the AI is still way to stupid, so it's nice to be able to help out. What's less realistic? Quickly changing seats during combat? Or that there's a T55 < 200m away in plain view and your AI gunner just can't be bothered to engage?

And the BF2 / Arcade line? Disingenous, at best, mate.

I'm voting this up.

This is the only needed and useful argument.

It will be fixed.

ACE 1.10 Update 2 build 488 was supposed to fix the bug

http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/ACE_1_10_Update_2

"Cargo, turret and driver compartments in Bradley were separated. Fixes #19309 [zGuba]"

but apparently the bug is still there. (checked in mission editor)
