Description

AI warps when playing in dedicated server:

Mission is: I44_COOP_LeftBehind_1-4_v1-1.Chernarus.pbo

Compare that to the "normal" a2 warping:

I was alone in the server, had ping of 17, 0 desync and the dedi server was some uber xeon 8 core machine on both of those videos.

I have also yet to see a non-warping human player in a TvT mission online.
It is pretty much like this to me as well, despite low pings and whatnot:

In single player I don't see any AI warping...

Anyone else with similar experiences?

Pretty sure this is an ArmA2 / Connection issue unrelated to I44 but will keep an eye out.

Pretty sure it is a "basic.cfg" issue serverside. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/basic.cfg

A bandwith setting issue so not I44 related. Server admins should try and tune their servers settings and thus the lag of AI observed with optics. For example:

language="Polish";
adapter=-1;
3D_Performance=93750;
Resolution_Bpp=32;
MinBandwidth=15000000;
MaxBandwidth=100000000;
MaxMsgSend = 1024;
MaxSizeGuaranteed = 1024;
MaxSizeNonguaranteed = 64;
MinErrorToSend = 0.0025;
MaxCustomFileSize=0;

Could someone provide a server name/address that doesn't have this issue (and their server.cfg values if possible).

Is there a Human player warping ticket somewhere as well?

Try to tweak:
MinErrorToSend = 0.0025;

Human players warping is related to:
  • Bad player connection
  • Player is far away (high ping)
  • Server is overloaded (has low FPS itself)
  • Player has different animations than you

Perhaps I44 overloads the CPUs. Has any server admins report back anything related to this? I would imagine that some of them log the server FPS values.

Performance should improve over time as bugs are eliminated, nothing we can do about A2's netcode though.
