Description

It happens at quite a few points in the game, that when your weapon is lowered, you cannot right-click or shoot to raise your weapon, and if you do hit 2x ctrl to raise it, the player needs to stand straight first, if you are crouched.

Repro steps

1. Lower weapon
2. Crouch
3. Try to raise weapon

Observed

You stand up at the first attempt to raise the weapon and raise the weapon at the second attempt.

Expected

You raise the weapon and stay crouched.

Still an issue with patch 1.02.

Fireball you should be able to access the Affected ArmA II version field - do you not?

Hm I haven't come across this issue so far. Do you use a custom key config.
If so which for fire, scope, lower and raise weapon (temp and permanently).

Updated by Fireball about 6 years ago

Nope, it's the default controls I use.

Try this: lower your weapon while standing, then kneel and try to raise your weapon
Then try that: lower your weapon while standing, then kneel; now try to go prone

If you play coop campaign, you'll see that your weapon ends up lowered many more times that you expect it (conversations), and then it can be really nasty.

PS.: nope, cannot set "affected arma II version" for an update

Partially fixed in 1.03.58814; you can go prone from crouched position (with weapon lowered or not), but you still need to stand up to raise your weapon.

Still valid in 1.07. OA tests pending.

It works if you press fire, but not if you use the toggle raise weapon key.

This is how it's always worked, it's annoying but trivial since there is a workaround.

I concur that it's trivial now.

AFAIR, the "click fire to raise" was only introduced with 1.03 or 1.04, though - before that it was really a PITA.

Still true.

I think this issue is more about Controls than about Animations.

Basically the "Raise weapon" and "Toggle raise weapon" controls (they are both toggle anyway, why having two of them?) act as "Stand up" when crouched with lowered weapon as well as when prone, causing the player always to get up plus keeping the weapon lowered.
