Description

First of all, thank you for the work you performed at arming the aircraft is magnificent.

The Russian Faction have in the ACE 1.7, the LGB KAB-500 L (525 kg (1,155 lb)).

The US Faction have in ACE 1.7, the LGB GBU-12 (500 lb (227 kg))

BUT they haven't got a LGB ~500kg.
I think the addition of the GBU-16 would be good.

This is a LGB 1,000lb (454 kg). American equivalent of the KAB-500L.

I hope you will consider these comments. Thank you for the work you provide, and sorry for my bad English.

Best Regard

Yes, but the Americans have GBU-27 (2000 pounds). It's even a JDAM, so I don't see a point IMO. ACE team should rather focus on other stuff...

There is no GBU 27 in ACE 1.7. I speak of the GBU 16, to have a balance at big PVP.

Thanks

GBU-16/27 could both be implemented using modified guidance code (different frictions/bump guidance parameters), that part is easy.

Only thing is models. We would be re-using the same GBU-12 model for everything. any objections?

grr. edit being stupid.

If there are no objections - i could at least do different flight parameters and impacts could be done relatively quickly.

If you do at least we'll have it if we stumble over a model.

Whats the point of adding BIGGER dumb/intelligent bombs?

There are no underground structures in the game that would make bunkerbusters useful.
Every structure collapses if hit by the GBU-12. That makes bombs from GBU-12 size upwards kind of useless/overpowered (as in having the same effects or no major advantage in the game).

Plus aircraft maneuverability is not affected by payload. You could even load all pylons with ultra heavy bombs w/o any effect on fuel consumption or maneuverability.

Makes no sense to me gameplay wise and therefore it's not worth to spend time on making a model (which takes a lot of time) or following this further imo.

just use the glt missile box if you want it for custom missions http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6071 has a few bigger bombs but this would be something that could be nice bigger blast radius, explosions and more enemy casualties.

So true, along with this all bombs ingame are so effective they kill everything with one hit (in regards of units/vehicles).

I see and agree with rocko's point.

I think the main move's should be towards more cluster / spread munitions to actually increase kill radius instead of bigger booms. There is no "in game" reason to have bigger GBU's, there's more of a need for effective burst munitions, napalm and CBU's imo

Indeed. Correct utilization techniques (guidance, flight path, JDAM style delivery) for cluster/'conventional' bombs that are ingame are IMO more important than bigger bombs.
