Description

Is there any way to revert back to the old artillery system with a script? I'm not just talking about disabling the computer, but the new shells too. The reason I brought this up is because the new artilley system broke so many other systems. An example of this would be Doolittle's artillery script where the artillery shot on sight, or SLX's artillery where units called in for artillery. A simple script inside a gamelogic that brought the old artillery system back would be greatly appreciated

I think he's referring to shells with the ARTY_ prefix.

Sorry JDMT, I was refering to the short, medium, and long range shells of each kind.

I think it would be great if the new artillery computer could be set to "interactive mode only", to get the firing data out of it, then switch to gunner and actually aim the gun by adjusting barrel to given data. For the Stryker MC, the commander station had to be used to use the computer. Would make it rather painful to operate one single handed. For mortars and howitzers, it would be the secondary slot.

The tracking system should be hooked up to the artillery radar object with an action instead.

I like the new artillery computer, I like it a lot. Even better than the old system. But not as means to actually fire the weapon.

Community addons just need to be updated. Where is the problem?

If you say so... I just think it would be nice to have a script or module to disable the different ranges for the artillery shells.

There is the script command:
enableEngineArtillery
u:enableEngineArtillery BOOL

It can disable the simple system per unit/player.

Do you mean that?

I was aware of disabling the artillery computer, but not the different ranged shells. Thanks for your response.
