Description

It seems the Pilot gets credit for the friendly kill.
If this is enough to lower the Pilots score he becomes Renegade and enemy.
As a result friendlys cannot get into the helo until the pilot gets out.

This could be corrected.

There is nothing in the code that touches the chopper or chopper pilot. It's just a small trigger that kills the unit inside a trigger near the tail rotor. No score gets subtracted.

Yes. I know and I agree. This is not an attack on our ACE code. This should have been entered as a feature.
We know all too well that when you are the driver of a vehicle and a friendly dies as a result of your vehicle, whether is the vehicle crashes like a MH-6 full of people, the driver gets credit for the kill, the driver dies in this case so no problem. ACE has compensated for BI short comings in the past.

Since the tail rudder is ACE code we technically cannot send this feature request to BI. Some day in the future however, we could add code to capture the current score of the pilot and if the result is a tail rudder kill, the code could compensate enough so that the Pilot score is not corrupted such that future friendlies can no longer get into the helo until the Pilot dies and respawns. Assuming it is a respawn mission.

There is a solution I believe.

There are missions with their own rating and score handling. Something like this doesn't belong into an addon.
