Description

Great difficulties re-arming helicopters in multiplayer. 95%, or more, of the time, if I get behind a re-arming truck, (even my own), a message will say "re-arming" on the screen, and then disappear, and no re-arming occurs.

If I land at a city main camp, and choose "re-arm vehicles", I briefly see all weapons get re-loaded on the helicopter, then 1 second later they all disappear.

The only place I can reliably re-arm is at an HQ-constructed service point.

This has been an on-going bug, for a LONG time, but continues through to the latest beta.

Can you create a repro mission?

Also, be more specific: MP only? Dedicated or non-dedicated? Just helicopters? Which weapons? etc...

Hehe, yeah, RobM.

The good old MP reload bug, even worse in OA (compared to previous ArmA versions) where it sometimes doesn't work at all no matter which vehicle you use.

No need to, just use any of the default CTI missions in either OA (Takistan) or Arma2, including and up to the latest beta(s) for both.

MP-only, non-dedicated (haven't tried dedicated), helicopters-only, all weapons

To reproduce: (need 2 humans, optimal, 1 pilot, 1 gunner)
Take off in a helicopter, fire off your weapons, then land at the main camp of any friendly city. Try to re-arm your helicopter, while looking at it. You see the weapons (hellfires, in particular) appear for about 1 second, then disappear.

Alternatively, fly a helicopter, fire off your weapons, and land at HQ. Build an ammo truck, and order it to move to the helicopter. While you're still piloting the helicopter, point at the ammo truck, and if you're "lucky", you'll get a menu option to re-arm. Select it. Briefly, in white on the screen, it will say "re-arming", then it will fade away. Sometimes your ammo count goes up, then disappears again.

In the 50 or so attempts I've made to re-arm at vehicles, in MP CTI missions, I've never once been successful at doing it in MP. I have no issues doing it in single player in the boot-camp mission.

I see. Seems you are talking about two different things. I believe the first case is a scripted rearm within warfare itself, and not the same as rearming from a truck for example. If this is the case, I would create a new ticket for that (under Warfare category).

As for the second case, rearming at a truck with helicopters can be tricky. It helps if you land and cut the engines. The slightest movement can interupt the process. Try this and if it continues to not work I'd say there's definately a bug there. Also, try seeing if it makes a difference if you have 2 players, 1 player & 1 AI, 1 player and no AI, etc... (always important to note when a bug is MP related)

Huh ?

It doesn't work at all sometimes. That's it. That bug was in A1, in A2 and now (like I wrote before) even worse in OA, no matter what you do. And yes, he wrote MP and multiplayer. Locality issues.

The problem is without step by step description for at least somewhat high chance of reproduction,
a programmer might look at it, not see the bug to occur and move on.

This is the job of the CIT - us managers and you reporters.
To narrow down it as much as possible.
