Description

I was testing the remote detonate function on the M4 SLAM, and when sighting in, the sight picture seemed to be the same as the claymore. I think a sight picture which shows where the EFP (explosively formed projectile) will go would be an improvement. Currently the projectile hits about 1 CM above the top of the visible area in the sight picture (about one foot higher on the target).

Screen of sighted in SLAM and actual hit/impact position would help tremendously.

In the SLAM description you can see the aiming sight in the middle of the drawing.

About the principe, quoting:

"For the EFP to form properly, it needs a minimum of 13 centimeters from the point of emplacement to the target."

(EFP being the Explosive Formed Penetrator)

Was it what you were asking for or am I missing something?

I joined too for pedagogical purposes how the penetrator is formed.

So we can see why a certain distance is required for the copper (if I'm correct) sheet to properly form into an optimum penetrating shape.

Yes, all correct, but I asked for a picture where it becomes obvious where the EFP impacts in relation to the CURRENT sight picture.

The sight in picture currently is the same as for the claymore mine, a horizontal bar.

Sight in a SLAM, make Screenshot, plug in detonator cap, arm it, fire. (Make sure expected impact point is on first screenshot)

Open screenshot in Paint, mark expected impact point, mark real impact point, add distance from SLAM to impact point.

Sorry will get on it before the end of the week! But from the little I remeber the SLAM in game impact is way too high.It should "where you aim at". The 3rd picture I did post the other day shows how the projectile behaves. It goes straight where you aim at.

Sorry for the very late answer: I tried a few minutes ago it does hit where point the SLAM at (about middle of the bar). So I am guessing it is solved? (test distance about 15m on a UAZ)

Great, thank you.

Supposing the original poster also seems not interested in this.
Rejected.

I didnt know that because i posted the bug i had to do all the research... Really no need for any of that rockco, I'm not paid to do this, you can just leave it open.

PeaceDocotor there must be some curve then in the trajectory of the EFP in game which is causing the problem, as I remember hitting much too high at a range of maybe 5m.

You are correct. If you knew the problem why did not say so to start with my friend? You are correct the trajectory is elliptical like bullets, climb a bit to then fall.

At 15m it is perfect below too high. I have no idea how addons or scripts etc... work so I am pretty useless here :(
